Honored Guest Speaker
Rev. Philip Krupski
Rev. Philip Krupski serves as Senior Vice President of Gift Planning Services for the LCMS Foundation. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the deployed gift planning team across the Synod in assisting God’s faithful stewards in planning their gifts to show love to family and to support ministry. He also looks to create and support relationships with ministries across the Synod, assisting them in discovering opportunities to plan for solid, future ministry support through gift planning.
Rev. Krupski has been a pastor for over 30 years, serving in three separate congregations for 26 of those years. Since 2015, he has served with the LCMS Foundation, first as a gift planning counselor in the Indiana District and then, since 2018, as the Senior Vice President of Gift Planning Services.
Rev. Krupski’s passion for offering Jesus to a broken world through the Gospel drives his overall approach to service. He brings that servant heart into partnerships with ministries across the Synod and guides the Gift Planning team to provide humble service to ministries and donors alike, helping them achieve the plans God has placed in their hearts.
Beyond Generosity: A Biblical Understanding of Grace
Honored Guest Speaker: Rev. Philip Krupski, Senior Vice President of Gift Planning Services, LCMS Foundation
Generosity has become a common word Christians use when teaching about giving, often taking the place of the word stewardship. This three-part presentation looks at how generosity is used in our culture, what it can imply, and what Scripture—both Old and New Testaments—actually teaches. We will see that God emphasizes grace and blessing, keeping giving out of the realm of pressure or obligation and firmly rooted in joyful, willing hearts.
Part 1
The increased usage of generosity in the vocabulary of our culture and the Church.
Part 2
A thorough look at the original language, looking at multiple words in Hebrew and Greek, in the Old and New Testaments, generically translated as “generosity”, with a goal of recapturing the richness and depth of what God is allowing us to be a part of.
Part 3
Discussion of our choice of language, if neither stewardship nor generosity are really getting the job done. (Hint: It will have everything to do with grace.)
