Guiding Parents - Yep, It’s Part of the Job

As early childhood educators we become specialists in understanding child development, implementing developmentally appropriate practice (DAP), perfecting classroom management, and positively guiding children’s behavior. There is an additional huge dynamic in our work as ECE practitioners: guiding our students’ parents! We know well-equipped and encouraged parents are better prepared to support children’s growth and development, yet admittedly some parents seem easier to partner with than others. This session will help us build recognition, responsiveness, and respect for the parents we work with, making these partnerships more enjoyable and rewarding - for everyone!
