We are excited to host the 2019 LCMS Youth Gathering in the great state of Minnesota. It is not only the land of many lakes, but also the land of many Lutherans. We know this strong Lutheran presence will help impact the Gathering through the gifts and talents of the local community. Please let us introduce Kristine Marlatt and Terri Bentz, who bring a depth of experience, a love for Minnesota, and have been tasked to connect and work with community resources and volunteers.
Kristine Marlatt is the daughter of missionaries and lived 11 years of her childhood in Hong Kong. She finished her high school years in New York, received her teaching degree from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, and her Master's degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
She has taught, assisted in youth work, been Director of Worship and Director of Operations in Lutheran schools in Florida, Arizona, Utah, and after three years as an administrator is currently teaching music in Minnesota.
She feels very blessed to be in this new role as Local Coordinator. She has attended two previous National Youth Gatherings and is thrilled to be a part of the team that makes this incredible event happen. She is excited to be a part of sharing the amazing news that GOD is REAL and PRESENT in our everyday lives!
Terri Bentz is a Lutheran Educator who grew up in Minnesota. She received her teaching degree from Concordia College in Seward, NE and her Master's degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. Terri taught at Lutheran schools in Hawaii and Illinois before moving to Minnesota to join the staff of Trinity First Lutheran in Minneapolis. Her current position with Lutheran Special Education Ministries has brought her to Lutheran Schools in Cologne, Hamburg, and Norwood Young America, MN. Terri has been blessed to serve on NYG Planning Teams in the past. She is excited to see how God shares His love through our "Minnesota Nice" volunteers with the participants of the 2019 National Youth Gathering REAL. PRESENT. GOD. She loves serving Jesus and sharing special times with family and friends.
Information about the district event at the 2019 Youth Gathering will be available as the event is planned.
