Pastor Mark Tewes from Living Christ Lutheran Church in Chanhassen will be leading a trip to Greece and Oberammergau, Germany, to see the 2020 rendition of the Passion Play.
The trip will begin with a flight from the United States on August 19, arriving in Athens on August 20. We will tour the city of Athens and have an overnight stay. After breakfast the next morning, we will go to the Port of Piraeus for a three-day cruise that will take us to the Port of Mykonos, Kusadasi (Ephesus), the Island of Patmos, Heraklion on Crete, and the island of Santorini. After the cruise concludes, we will embark on a mainland tour of Greece, visiting Veria, Thessaloniki, Philippi, Kavala, Kalambaka, Delphi, Corinth, and returning to Athens to further explore the city.
After completing our tour of Greece, we fly from Athens to Munich and tour the Dachau Concentration Camp as well as several historic sights in Munich. On August 30, we will travel to Oberammergau to see the Passion Play and spend the night in this quaint Bavarian town. On August 31, we travel to the Neuschwanstein Castle as well as Andechs Klos-terbrauerei, where we will enjoy lunch before traveling back to Munich. On September 1, we fly from Athens back to the United States.
Jerusalem Tours is the tour company making arrangements and has informed us that we will be staying in 4-star hotels. Breakfasts and dinners as well as several lunches are included in the cost of the trip. The Oberammergau play tickets are also included in the trip as well as other amenities and a gift package are included for each traveler. Registrations for the trip are being accepted through early 2020, but the sooner received the better.
