Holy Land Trip January 2019

Rev. Dr. Peter and Kathy Meier (Center for U.S. Missions) and Rev. David and Cynthia Hormann (St. John, Winsted) are co-hosting a 10-Day Biblical Tour of Israel from January 25 to February 3, 2019. The tour will connect Biblical events (the ‘what’) to the places they occurred (the ‘where’). Pastor Meier and Pastor Hormann will also lead us in devotional Bible Studies at many of the sites we will visit. We will follow Jesus as His disciples, walking where He walked, and visiting sites of the prophets and kings of the Old Testament.

Some highlights include: The Galilee where we will visit Capernaum (Jesus’ base for His early ministry), Mt. of Beatitudes, Caeserea Philippi (where Peter confessed ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God’), Magdala, Megiddo and Mt. Carmel (where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal), Nazareth, Caeserea Maritima (where Peter proclaimed the Good News to the Roman Centurion). Descending to the Dead Sea, we visit Masada, Ein Gedi and Qumran. Also included is time at Bethsaida, the Jordan River, Gideon Springs and Beit Shean. We will visit Bethlehem and Christmas Lutheran Church to learn about their ministry. No trip is complete without visiting the city of Jerusalem, including the Mt. of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, the Jewish Quarter, Temple Mount, Pool of Bethesda, and many more sites.
