Lutherans for Life Essay Contest

This year Lutherans for Life is again sponsoring an essay contest at the state level for students in Lutheran schools in two categories, grades 6-8 and 9-12. Winners at the state level are sent on for inclusion in the national essay contest. Teachers for these grades are encouraged to use the essay contest as a classroom assignment, picking one winner per school for each category.

In the past, there have been some local contests that your school may have participated in to qualify for the state contest. This year the winner from each school will come directly to the state contest.  Copies of the MN state essay contest rules and grading rubric are attached. If you have any questions please contact me at or call me at 651-333-0337. Your winning entries should also be sent to me to be included in the state contest.

We look forward to having many students participating at your school. Please forward this to the appropriate teacher in order to give them what they need to get this activity underway. All winning entries must come to me by March 15, 2018 in order to qualify.

Please send entries to Virginia Flo, Regional Director of Minnesota & National Conference Director, Lutherans for Life, 3243 Evergreen Drive, Eagan, MN  55121
