2019-20 Chapel Talks and National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW)

Both the 2019-20 Chapel Talks and National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) materials have been released and are available for schools to access and use in their planning for the upcoming school year! Following the theme of "Joy:Fully Lutheran" used by the 2019 LCMS Convention, both resources explore 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 and focus on joy in Jesus and being fully connected to the Word.

The 2019-20 Chapel Talks explores 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 and focuses on the joy of Jesus’ Word and Sacrament present in Sunday worship in the Christian congregation. It contains resources for individuals tasked with leading weekly chapel services to students of all ages in Lutheran and Christian schools. Bible verses, weekly hymns, and speaking points make up only a portion of the great content of this year’s Chapel Talks. The resource is available as a free PDF download or as a print copy for purchase through Amazon.com.

The National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) materials help schools celebrate Lutheran schools together during the week of January 26 - February 1, 2020. Schools will focus on the message of forgiveness of sin through faith in Christ found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24. The NLSW resources are available as a free download and additional resources will continue to be added throughout the coming months.

Both resources can be found on LuthEd.org through the Chapel Talks and the National Lutheran Schools Week pages as well as through the search bar on LCMS.org.
