Openings: Part-time administrative positions | Norwood Young America

St. John’s Lutheran Church & School, Norwood Young America, is seeking people to fill several part-time positions: office manager, business manager, and communications coordinator.

Part-time (up to 20 hrs. / wk.) church office manager (pay is $15-$17 / hr., based on experience). This person will maintain church records, manage the calendar, oversee the membership database, order supplies, oversee the volunteer scheduling, and provide a friendly office presence for all visitors. We are looking for someone who is a Christian, committed to the work of the church, team player, friendly, organized, effective as a communicator, able to work with volunteers, and possesses computer proficiency. Part-time (up to 20 hrs. / wk.) church business manager (pay is $22-$27 / hr., based on experience). This person will be responsible for financial recording and reporting, bill payment, payroll, budget management and development, tuition management, taxes, equipment contracts, employee insurance and benefit plans, and stewardship development. We are looking for someone who is a Christian, committed to the work of the church, team player, detail-oriented, experienced with automated accounting database systems such as QuickBooks, has a degree in accounting or similar field (or similar experience), and has two or more years of experience in finances. Part-time (up to 30 hrs. / wk.) communications coordinator (pay is $16-$20 / hr., based on experience). This person will develop a comprehensive communication strategy for the church and school while also serving as the school office manager. Job responsibilities include website maintenance, marketing strategies, social media presence, bulletin and newsletter design and editing, graphic design, and video editing. There will also be office manager tasks to be dictated by the request of the principal. We are looking for someone who is a Christian, committed to the work of the church, creative, an effective communicator, adept at communicating through various mediums, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment. A communications degree or similar field is preferred (or similar experience). Opening: Pastoral Care Assistant | Columbia Heights

St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Columbia Heights, is seeking a part-time (15 hrs. / week) pastoral care assistant. This is an administrative ministry role. The ideal candidate is an organized thinker with a caring focus and the ability to delegate, balancing an eye for details with the capacity to see the big picture.

With key spiritual gifts of leadership and administration, this individual will serve alongside our pastor, primarily overseeing the Befriender Ministry, the Griefshare Ministry, and end-of-life and funeral ministries.

Opening: Director of Worship | Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer

Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, is looking for a part-time director of worship for their Sunday 10:30 a.m. service. This person will work closely with the pastor(s) to organize the worship service—including music and musicians. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the LCMS faith and its practices, extensive experience with selecting music, good team skills, and the ability to play the piano or another instrument and / or sing. The director of worship should also have knowledge of technology used during the services, including PowerPoint and sound systems.
